JS - Desal Cover Page

I'm kind of all over the place on this assignment. I found it difficult to focus my definition on any aspect of sustainability, the concept is so broad and varies depending on who you talk to. So I focused locally and stumbled across the subject of water desalination. I can't recall exactly where this idea came from, but I'm having trouble shaking it. Maybe it's that damned GE commercial, maybe its the distinctive odor of locally reclaimed water. I don't know. This topic may have already been beaten to death, but being a new Pinellas County resident it is new to me.

This is my rough draft of my definition of Desalination.

This is my final copy of my definition of Desalination.

I started by sieving through the data and really examining the local situation. I noticed that the topic of water shortage and the possible solutions, including desalination, were just the tip of the iceberg. The argumentative tidal flow on this subject is rooted much deeper than the environment. Politics, scandal, money, they are all drops in this proverbial bucket.

So what is Desalination and why have we turned to it to help remedy our water situation? Will it pay off in the long run? or open a Pandora's box of new ecological problems?
