There was this one Gordon Rule paper I had to write. There is so much background information here, it is hard to start. Here goes.
1) A friend of mine at the bookstore I work at had shown me a study that stated that they human eyes were working harder if they were reading black text on a white background. It is actually easier on the eyes if you read the color yellow off of a black background. So, for my online classes at SPC, I changed the format to switch the colors of text and background.
2) I had to write a 2000 word essay for my online art class. The page that I was supposed to submit this beast on also contained the instructions, they were in red text somewhere in the middle. So I found my own topic and wrote an awsome report.
3) It was the day that the paper was due. It was all finished at 9 o'clock pm and the paper didn't have to be due until 11:55pm. When I was submitting it, I wondered why the instructions in red were in the middle and not up at the top. Out of curiocity, I dragged the cursor across the screen and made that box that highlights things and found a whole bunch of text that made me shit a chicken. It was the first part of the instructions. It said that I was to answer two out of the six following questions, not "make up some sort of topic and write about it." I was fucked.
4) I hired my little brother, 16 and no where near capable of writing a college level essay (didn't even know how to site), and the two of us each chose one question to answer for a 1000 words. by 11:58, we had the thing done. I submitted it unedited and not knowing that my brother forgot what the word plagerism meant.
5) Feeling horrible about the final result, I called the teacher and explained what happened. Apparently, the instructions were typed using a different source than that of the website. The words of the instructions page were black and blended perfectly into the black background I had made. He let me turn in the first report that I had made. I made an 85% on it and was proud as hell I did.
6) I think the moral of the story is that you should just ignore how hard your eyes have to work and just accept that you will have to wear glasses when you are older. So anyway, that is some pretty good blog. Anybody else have a story they want to share? I have a link you can use to type them up.
