An Epic Battle Told!
Death roared a cataclysmic cry that sent shivers through the L-TEAM. The foe they faced was like no other, and that cry proved it. Without warning, he hovered through the air and charged at the L-TEAM. His scythe flew in smooth, skillful, deadly strokes. There was barely a second to get out of the way. Bomberman leapt across the room, toward the desk in the front, just barely saving his own skin.
Kirby wasted no time. He jumped into the air and latched onto Death's face, tearing and biting and punching. There was another cry and the pink power puff was hurled into the door, crashing through.
Luigi knew he was next. Summoning the fire from the flower in his pocket, he shot green flames toward the robed enemy. With a wave of his hand, Death sent the fire in all directions. If fire wasn't going to work then maybe steel would, he though. With a flick of his wrists, a blade extended out on each arm. Luigi made a dash forward with his blades out. He stabbed through the robe, but he didn't find anything inside. Death laughed menacingly and swung his arm with incredible force, knocking Luigi to the wall and taking his breath away.
Bomberman knew he couldn't throw bombs in a room this small without hurting everyone around him, so he dawned the Generation suit and went on the offensive. From his right wristband came a blue laser that tore through the robe, but again, hit nothing inside. Death hovered over his desk and swung his mighty scythe. Missing Bomberman by millimeters, he chopped the desk in half.
Now it was Death's turn to go out on the offensive. Summoning the dark powers of the Damned, he raised skeletons from the floor. They stood up and began to walk toward the L-TEAM. These soldiers of the dark master broke off bones from their bodies and hurled them with deadly proficiency toward Bomberman who took most of the initial assault before again taking cover behind the desk. Luigi came to his rescue. With the skill of a seasoned melee champion, he danced and stabbed, clearing a path through the skeletons. Bomberman followed up by aiming his left wristband and firing capture nets around the skeletons.
While Bomberman and Luigi were concentrated on the skeletons, Kirby was focused on the evil behind them. Without any copy powers, he knew he was useless. If only he could get one, he thought. Luigi, able to read the thoughts of his team, fired a fireball toward his partner. Kirby immediately swallowed it and gained the ability to spew fire. Flames filled the room and followed Death as he ran away from them. Death didn't let this go on much longer. Controlling the Scythe with his dark powers, he sent it toward the hero. It sliced the side of Kirby's face, and he began to bleed.
The others were done with the skeletons and whipped around to take on the real problem when they saw Kirby get sliced in the face. The anger that surged through them prompted their blind assault on a foe that was obviously more powerful. They charged anyway and Luigi sliced a finger off of Death's right hand before the left struck the both of them.
Now injured, Death screamed another horrid scream that shattered the windows of the office. Summoning more of his dark magic, the evil one spawned small scythes to spin around him and form a shield against future melee attacks. With complete control over each and every scythe, he began to throw them at his assassins. The L-TEAM was on the run now. If they weren't able to keep on their toes, they would meet an untimely death.
Kirby managed to grab one of the scythes from mid air and chucked it toward the controller. Death weaved out of the way, but it was a break in his concentration and the scythes stopped for a moment. Luigi fired everything he had and Kirby backed him up. Death absorbed the fire.
"Isn't there any way to kill this thing?" Screamed Bomberman, whose chest bled from a gash received by the rouge scythes.
"Use your light bombs!" Screamed Kirby. "It might take us, but at least we save the city."
The team agreed upon the sacrifice and Bomberman prepared a light bomb. Death saw this coming, and sent all of the absorbed fire toward him. The fire lit the bomb and it exploded.
When the dust settled, the L-TEAM woke up and stood. They surveyed the damage. Unable to explain why they survived, they left it alone under the assumption that if they discovered what it was, they would somehow fuck it up and it would never help them again.
Down at the bar, the team congratulated itself on another job well done.
