Today is Feb. 15th and wanted to take a look back and highlight some of past assignments in this expository writing course. At first, our assignments on the wiki were easy. For example, we were instructed to make a “blog type” entry. Mine was short and sweet at first. I originally gave a short biography about myself. As the course progressed, I expanded my first blog and also added pictures. It was not long before the assignments increased in intensity. The first assignment of moderate difficulty that I recall is the freesound activity. At first, I simply found a few sounds and discussed why I chose them. After talking with my instructor, Trey, I realized that much more needed to be done. I was able to eventually grasp the assignment, and applied it to the freesound remix. Looking back, I feel that the searchtags assignment has been the most challenging so far. I plan to redo that project in the near future. So far, I have to say that my favorite assignment has been the lessig remix. I was fun remixing my original lessig response with John S.’s interpretation of the free culture reading assignment. My least favorite assignment so far is the findzine task. I was unable to review many of the zines I located online because their web pages no longer exist. I intend on doing more exciting (and less exciting) projects in this course. For instance, we are working on creating our own zine in class on Feb 15th.
