Didn't follow through on Step 4
You've most likely read how lose a persuer on the previous page. Well this is what happens when you didn't follow through with taking an alternate route home. My friend and I were on our way home again from the movies, proud that we escaped the van. Little did we know of the danger we were about to face. We were driving down a two lane road to my house when we say behind us the headlights of a vehicle. This was a neighborhood road so there were no street lights to help us see what kind of vehicle it was. Then, we saw a second set of headlights move into the left lane and pass the first set behind us. We thought it was some sort of impatient driver who needed to go faster. Boy were we wrong. It pulled in front of the first set of headlights and turned on the special kind that blink red and blue. That's right, it was a cop car, and the vehicle behind was the van from before. Not only was it the same van, but it was also a Sheriffs van. We were fucked.
There were three officers all together. Two guys driving the van and a lady driving the car. They came to our vehicle, both sides, and asked both of us for our drivers license. The entire time, my friend kept asking what the ticket was for and he never got a strait answer. They told us to step out of the vehicle while they searched it and searched it they did. They found a very tiny plastic resealable bag and assumed that we had drugs in there. My friend had to explain that his grandmother had recently died and that she had left him a ring and that was the bag it came in. They continued their search and the female cop was lecturing my friend about driving. She was the scariest person I've ever seen in my life.
The female cop was ready to take my friends license away right then and there. She went to the cop car to see just how far she could go with her authority. The whole time we were standing there, my friend kept "panicing" saying how today was the worst day of his life. "First my girlfriend left me, then the college I wanted to go to wouldn't accept me, financial aid won't cover college, and now this." He kept throwing out these facts over and over again. When the cops were finished searching the car, they were waiting for the female to finish with her call. The guys were talking to us on the level. One of them was impressed with how fast his car could go saying "Man, you were really bookin' down that neighborhood." My friend said "Yeah, I know." as sly and casual as he could.
When the woman was finished, the two guys walked over to her and they had a talk. They had convinced her not to take his license away and rather than the 400+ dollar ticket, they reduced it to $83 for reasons still unknown. Though we didn't get out of trouble completely, life would be able to continue for us as it had for so long before then.
How to get out of a traffic ticket
Step 1: Don't have any illegal substances in the car. This garuntees failure. Make sure you're both clean. If there are drugs in the car, throw them out the window of the passenger side.
Step 2: Practice your histaria. It has to be believable. When you are listing off all of your problems, real or otherwise, being able to make the proper tone can make or break the deal.
Step 3: If they do not give you a reason for pulling you over, ask why. Don't get specific. Don't ask if it's for speeding, let them tell you it's for speeding. Then ask them how fast you were going. If they don't give you an answer at first, ask again. If they give you one you know is crap, they are just making up a number to give you a ticket and you can argue that one in court.
Step 4: Have handy a list of problems that would send any sane man to throw himsself off a bridge. Using all of them at once can throw suspicion as to their validity. Select at least three and at most five problems that are somewhat linked to the same situation. Always make it sound as if it all came tumbling down on the same day. If it's morning, the latter may not apply.
Step 5: If you made it out with a lesser ticket or scott free, count your blessings. This is a time for celebration. Get the beers out and drink the night away (but don't drive home).
