famicom

NES

kirby's adventure

So anyway, back to the discussion. It depends on your perspective of the world. If you believe that everything in every country happens together reguardless of the boarders, then you probably would believe that the famicom is the "origional nintendo." But if you think in terms of boarders, then the NES is the "origional nintendo." But here is a third way to look at it. What if you see the famicom and the NES as the same thing? They both contain the exact same hardware, though the games are not interchangable. They both contain the same style of controllers (though the famicom ones are cooler looking and have a built in microphone for microphone based gaming). They both contain a multitude of games (though there are so many more games released in Japan than here). Then again, why waste your time arguing with this point. The only thing I was trying to do in the first place was help you figure out what it was I was talking about. Either way you put it, you still have the same idea. So anyway...

I have spent the last decade or so collecting random samples of video game music from all eras of gaming. I wanted to get the best of my collection up so that others could listen to them. I need a way to take them off of my hard drive and put them onto the internet. The only way I have thought to do this is to create a fake website that only has links to my music on there and just set up a link from the fake website here. If there is an easier way to do this, let me know. I want all yalls to hear it. Great, classic, ultra nerdy stuff. This is beyond talking in like World of Warcraft or Dungeons and Dragons. This is for those of you who want to be in an even lower pit of shame for showing so much interest in something that nobody else on earth could understand or cares to. But I digress... If there is an easier way to do this, let me know.

So I'm going to Chicago tomorrow. It is gonna be sweet. Anybody been there? Anybody have any suggestions? An historic site to see?

So to go back to a preveous blog, I have decided to download onto this website some selections of music from my private collection. These are from megaman five and six for the NES and my point is not so much five, but six. Megaman six was the last megaman game for the NES. When it was released in Japan, it was thought to be the last of the series all together and so the music, story, and ending all have this final closure to them. Here is the opening music for the Japanese Version. By the time it reached American shores, Megaman seven for the SNES was already in production so the music and tone of the game was lowered a little bit. In this "final" chapter, Dr. Wily makes one final attempt to destroy his nemesis, Megaman and to do so, he steals the worlds most powerful fighting robots. Once you destroy them, Dr. Wily says that he still has enough to destroy you (megaman), come and get me. This is the music that they play for the final battle. When you listen to this, you can hear this undenyable finality to it that came from people who really wanted to tell you without any action or words that this was the end and that reguardless of the outcome, it was over. I don't think that someone who didn't write and create a piece of video game music for a specific event can ever capture what the piece of music was meant for. This is one of the few kinds of music that isn't really open to interperitation here.

I have some links that I need to work on here so bear with me. Trying to get this all to work.
